Abstract
In the summer of 2019, twenty-seven high school students came together at 826 Valencia Mission Bay Center every day for three weeks to write and learn from one another. Through daily writing prompts and visits from guest speakers who taught us about everything from the poetry of place to using visual art for inspiration, these young authors were encouraged to step outside their comfort zones, explore new genres, and perhaps most challenging of all, share and discuss their writing with each other.
